Merry Christmas!...from the pack!

This is good picture of my pack on a trip we did earlier this year.
I think it makes a good Christmas picture, right?
I had my first great Christmas! Well, to be fair, I’ve only had 2 total. But this one tops them all! I really love my new family. I’m pretty sure they love me too. We are a pack. But I have thought that I loved other families, but they soon abandoned me. I can’t help but be nervous that my new family...even though we are a pack...will do the same thing. It’s just what I know.

So this Christmas, I have to admit I was nervous. Especially when they left pretty early in the morning. But they came back and they let me open the big bag that has been sitting just out of my reach for a week. [I knew there was something in there for me!]

They pulled out rubber bones, rawhide bones, and Oh my gosh the treats! I have never been given a Christmas gift! Sure, I have my toy collection, but this was really special. Monumental, even. I know I shouldn’t let toys and treats define love, but it was something more than that. It was the magic of Christmas that got me all verklempt. I can’t help it

Fun with relatives!

me
Just an FY1, The Dog with a Blog has changed to Baileys Dog Dish. Apparently, unbeknownst to me, a Disney TV show is using my name! I don't know if I am flattered or slighted. Anyway, My new name is better, don't you think?

Sorry I haven’t written in a while. I have been very busy. Meeting people, going on walks through the nature trails behind us and going to the dog park are very exciting.

Yesterday, I got to see two neighbors. Shannon and her little son came over. I was so excited to see him! But they wouldn’t let me jump on him and kiss him. I’m not sure why.

Today I went to the park and met two relatives from both sides of the family! A husky and a hound. This was the first time I have met a hound that looked like me. Just look at the pics...see the similarities? Brooke says I act like a husky. I’ve always felt more kin to the huskies and I always thought I looked like them.  But now, I’m not so sure....

The hound kept barking at me. But I think he was happy. Me, I don't really bark...a whole lot. That's my husky side. I only bark when I'm playing with other dogs.  I like to be the only one barking. I don't bark back. I'm independent like that.

I met some other nice dogs at the park. We ran and played. It was so much fun! There was a basset hound there, as well. He tried to hump me. I had to give him a what-for.
a hound that looks like me!

I saw Blackie and her brothers and sisters. Now they all run away from me. I’m not sure why. It must be because cats  don’t like the cold. I just play it cool and aloof. Some day they’ll come around.

The other day some kids came over and wanted to pet me. I was so excited! They seemed a little scared of me though and asked if I was a wolf or a dog. I didn’t know I was a wolf. Brooke assured them that I was nice and we played a little bit.

It was a great day!

What a Weekend!

I had a great weekend! I didn’t see Blackie, but I got to run around with Copper, the neighbor’s dog. I went to Buona Vita Thursday and saw my friends. But the most exciting thing was that I saw a deer on my walk with Adam!

It blew my mind! Oh what I would have given to be able to chase him! Adam tried to get a picture of him, but he ran away.

We went on a pack walk last evening. Then Brooke and Adam went away for the evening. I discovered some banana loaf and a plate of holly cookies! I just knew they were for me. It was so nice of them to leave them for me. But they seemed a little frustrated when they got home. I'm not sure why...

I did get a peanut butter sandwich. I get these every once in a while. Adam and I will sometimes share a sandwich at night, when Brooke has gone to sleep. But sometimes, Brooke is around when I get my sandwich. It seems to taste a little different then, but I don’t mind. I just LOVE peanut butter sandwiches!

I met a new friend, Copper, on Sunday. He seems nice. We ran around a bit. He was allowed off the leash, I wasn’t. It was fun playing with him. I haven’t been to the dog park this week.
